Our 70th Season:
An unconventional season during unconventional times.
In the midst of a global pandemic, many variables prevented us from performing in the traditional way. We could not rehearse at our usual location, and we could not use the Dudley Bandshell at Riverside Park to perform, as the Hancock Parks District cancelled the Riverside Summer Concert Series.
With so many organizations continuing to safely perform and hold events, FCCB Leadership was determined to offer concerts as best as possible.
Thanks to the hospitality of Rev. Adam Hertzfeld, Pastor, and Mr. Dow Cambell, Chief of Staff for St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Parish, we were thankful to be able to rehearse and perform our concerts all at the campus on Bright Rd.
FCCB performed just two concerts at St. Michael Parish, but managed to maintain a core group of musicians through rehearsals, and performances. We welcomed a new conductor to our podium for the first time - Dr. Wes King of the University of Findlay.
Dr. King is a Professor of Music and Director of Bands at UF, and we are pleased that he is willing to work with the FCCB in addition to the myriad of responsibilities he has with the UF Bands.
We are grateful to Mr. Chris Oaks of WFIN for serving as the voice of the band, and to the season sponsors for ensuring we could perform successfully.
