Katie started playing tuba in 1998 at Brush Elementary in Grafton, OH. She enjoyed playing and practicing in a boiler room with the custodial staff in her early years of playing. She has continued to play through all of the band programs in high school, college, and has been a member of the Findlay Civic Concert Band since 2013. She is also a member of the UF Symphonic Band, Bowling Green Community Band, and Black Swamp Community Orchestra.

Katie teaches K-5 General Music at Findlay City Schools. She holds a Bachelors degree in Music Education from The Ohio State University and a Masters degree in Music Education from The University of Akron. In addition to serving the FCCB as treasurer, she serves as the Ohio Music Education Association - MIOSM Chair, and is President of the Toledo American Orff-Schulwerk Association Chapter #90. When she is not playing tuba she enjoys spending time with her beautiful daughter, Cora Rose; running, camping, and crafting.
